RT One of Five U.S. Test Sites for New HP Press (June 2008)

In June of this year, HP introduced its most advanced sheet-fed digital solution yet, the Indigo 7000 Digital Press. But, as one of only five beta test sites in the U.S., RT had the privilege of experiencing the 7000 months before it was released to the public. In short order, we were “sold.” Adding this powerful new machine to our production equipment means that we can offer our clients faster, higher productivity, better cost-effectiveness, greater environmental responsibility, and more brilliant, eye-catching pieces.

Designed for high volume, the work horse 7000 generates 120 letter size pages per minute. Its ability to support a larger sheet size of 13x19” allows for printing 4-up 6”x9” postcards, with bleed, eliminating the need to reduce card size in order to fit 3-up real estate. Also gone are short run lengths, which compromise the life and best use of the press. Combined with faster change-over, increased longevity equals double the output and decreased cost per copy. What’s more, the 7000’s improved JDF-enabled capabilities simplify MIS integration and end-to-end workflows; its Production Pro print server processes larger files, enabling broader Variable Data Print (VDP) campaigns—at twice the speed.

Looks aren’t everything, but WOW, what the new 7000 can do for our customers’ pieces! With HP’s precisely engineered combination of ElectroInk liquid ink, 7-color printing and Ink Mixing System, images virtually pop off the page with razor-sharp clarity, vivid colors that are true to branding requirements, and uniform gloss. RT’s recently purchased UV Coater further heightens color vibrancy and durability of digitally printed pieces.

Speaking of color, green is “where it’s at,” and our new press is an ecologically responsible machine. With 25% reduced power consumption per printed page, an imaging oil recycling system that enables approximately 50% reduction of consumption and waste, and longer lifespan consumables (resulting in fewer waste materials), we at RT feel good not only about what our purchase will do for our clients, but what it won’t do to our planet.

Months ago, RT discovered that the HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press is something special. Now it’s your turn to see what this exciting new press can do! For more information on how the 7000 can enhance your marketing campaigns and collateral, contact your RT sales representative.
